#12013 Tony Predictions
Posted: 3/12/13 at 7:38pmAll right all of us Broadway files, lets start our horses out of the gates. Who are the shoe-ins for best musical nods? The category of best actress in a play seems to have quite a few contenders, don't you think? That being said, what are our predictions for best NEW play? Will the Tony committee decide to go back to having the ceremony at a Broadway house where I think it has always belonged? The several years it was at RCMH was great because so many more people could be in on the live show but when it moved to the Beacon it made no sense to me at all. I'm definitely going to file my hopes under "wishful thinking" that Manilo/Midler would open the show. For those of us geographically that will not be able to be at the awards, it should be a stunner with so many interesting musicals opening at the end of this season. Lets get the ball rolling and start putting our bets down on the upcoming nominations. Would love to hear all of your predictions!

Personally, speculating on shows that haven't even opened yet and nominations that haven't even been announced yet has always struck me as a bit premature.
