mrs doubtfire is yet another lazy adaptation from film to stage

in the same company of shows like pretty woman

although the latter is unbearably worse

the song ‘im rockin now’ from doubtfire is so generic it sounds like it was constructed by AI

I've seen them both and I can at least admit, I liked the absurdity of pretty woman the musical. It was horrible, but it was a good kind of horrible.

Mrs Doubtfire was the first musical that genuinely made me cringe in the theatre and made me wanna go to the great farm in the sky. The last two songs of act two and Miranda's song were passable, Miranda's song made me wish it was in a better musical, it wouldn't have been the best song if it were any other musical, but it was the best song in the show imo.

In all other aspects the show lacked *EVERYTHING* that a show needs to be a show. I have a video from the third preview on Broadway and I felt that it was a more put together show than it was after the pandemic and on tour. There were actual attempts of character development and chemistry between the actors. Alas, those songs were cut for more focus on Daniel, who's an empty character for two and a half hours.

I paid $120 to see it, and I'd rather pay 120$ to have my head slammed into a porta potty by an animatronic gorilla. I see why you all rant about bad shows now, and I apologize for going off all those times I did. I've seen the light of bad shows, and it boils the blood.
