2027-2028 Tour Launches

With the Broadway League Spring Road Conference coming up I’m sure we will be getting a handful of tour announcements for the 2027-2028 season.

Ragtime with kick off its tour in the fall of 2027 in Buffalo, New York!

Beaches has suggested a tour will follow the current Broadway engagement, but with nearly every major market having already announced their 26/27 seasons it’ll have to wait until the 27/28 season at the earliest.

why do ppl fall for this every time

whenever a broadway musical bombs or flops

and a premature closing is announced

the producers put out a statement to save face

and make empty promises about an imminent national tour

were still waiting for that heart of rock and roll tour:

“With our original cast album just released and talks underway for a national tour and international productions, the musical will continue to delight audiences for years to come.”

if beaches does go out on the road

it will be at best a non equity one night stand tour

i remain skeptical

Mezzo, the difference is Heart of Rock and Roll’s tour announcement came at the end of its run when it was trying to save face; Beaches announced a tour at the onset of the Broadway production. The whole point of the physical production is that it is “tourable,” or at least that’s what they probably told investors.

‘The Heart of Rock and Roll’ was shockingly a fantastic show. Sad it never toured. Money is key. I guess the backers didn't have enough.
