2, count'em 2 BWW Leading Ladies in dueling 42nd Street Productions!

Many of you know that the lovely Natalie 2 (Natalie Buster) has been playing Dorothy Brock in the (non-Equity) national tour or 42nd Street to rave reviews and has extended her run for a second year, with performances upcoming throughout the US. Well, I've just learned that the lovely erikaamato (Erika Amato) will be playing the same role in the San Diego area (Lawrence Welk Theater) for three months in an Equity production beginning June 9th! An interesting sidenote, Erika's production will be based on the original 1980-89 show, and Natalie's is the 2001-2005 revival version. Congrats Erika! You get to sing that wonderful song " I Know Now...", I'm tellin' you, it makes a lot more sense in the play than "I Only Have Eyes..."

Maybe we can swap notes!

Hi, guys! Just found this thread, and it sure made me smile! Thanks to everybody for the congrats and good wishes!!

eslgr8: Thanks to you for the nifty thread and links and stuff. You are by far the biggest theatre fan I know! On a side note, it was lovely running into you last night at They're Playing Our Song. I'm sorry I didn't see you afterwards... I went right down to the greenroom to see K & S. I thought it was a great show, and the 2nd act certainly didn't disappoint. (I actually tink I liked it better than the first!) Anyway, I hope to see you at the Welk!

Natalie 2: Hi, there! Thanks so much for the congrats, and I'd love to "swap notes" someday! And yeah, "I Know Now" does seem to fit better thematically, but "I Only Have Eyes" is just so gorgeous... So, I guess we're both winners! I did a show with Mara Davi last year, so I know how talented she is, and I have heard only wonderful things about you, so I'm thinking: with two leading ladies like you guys, your tour must kick some serious booty! I hope to see it when it comes through again. =)
