re: 39 Steps to Close in January

It's always unfortunate to see a show close, but it did have a good run and much longer than I think most people expected. For those of you who haven't seen it yet, you should definitely try to catch it. It has some of the most creative staging you'll see on Broadway, and tickets are available for cheap.

What an incredible show. One of the VERY FEW Broadway shows I recommend to EVERYONE! Fantastic run with a freakin bombastic cast of superb actors (past and current). GO SEE IT NOW IF YOU HAVENT

Congrats to all involved with this show! I saw the original cast last June and loved it! Maybe I will catch the tour when it comes to L.A.

re: 39 Steps to Close in January

I just looked at tickets for this over the weekend and was about to by one from Jan 29th. That sadly wont be happening now.
Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist. Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino. This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more. Tazber's: Reply to Is Stephen Schwartz a Practicing Christian

Have never seen the Hitchcock movie that the play is based upon. Would you recommend seeing it? Before or after?

re: 39 Steps to Close in January

I don't think you necessarily have to see the movie of "39 Steps" before you see the play. The play is quite a faithful retelling of the movie, so while if you HAVE seen the movie it's fun to see how they retell it using only four characters, it's not like you will miss a lot.
What I would say is that if you haven't seen ANY Hitchcock movies, or aren't very familiar with Hitchcock even from just seeing film clips, you might want to see a couple before you go. The really fun parts, for me, were the ones where they made references to things in many Hitchcock films, in a very funny way. But again, it's not absolutely necessary. Most people are probably familiar enough with the iconic Hitchcock characters and scenes so that these references will be enjoyable.
I saw this with the original cast as well and thought it was great.
