1. Opening night of the original production of Show Boat in 1927. Would loved to have seen the audience's reaction after the final curtain.

2. Dreamgirls - The Original Broadway Cast
(I saw JH do it in Atlanta a few years ago, but Jennifer,Sheryl Lee Ralph, and Loretta Divine would be heaven.)

3. Company - The Original Broadway Cast with Stritch and Dean Jones.

4. My Fair Lady - The Original Broadway Cast with Julie Andrews & Rex Harrison

5. Funny Girl - The Original Broadway Cast with Babs.

(Alternate choice in case tickets aren't available)
Gypsy - The Original Broadway Cast with Ethel Merm.

Gr8 idea for a thread. I had a hard time narrowing it down to five though :)

1)Wicked WITH IDINA. otherwise I dont really care all that much. haha. but full London cast would be freaking incredible!
2)Last 5 Years with Norbert and Sherie
3)SWIWS- oobc of course
4)Aida with the obc (I've seen it, but there were lots of understudies and stuff and it wasnt the obc anyway- it was amazing, but I'd love to go back and see the obc)
5)Les Mis with the revival cast

aaand Wedding Singer again... I'd go many, many more times if I could- its a drug :P

I don't need a life that's normal. That's way too far away. But something next to normal would be okay. Something next to normal is what I'd like to try. Close enough to normal to get by.

Is anyone else bothered by the fact that at least half of these posts consist of currently running shows?

For god's sake, get off your computer and make it happen.

Hah, I know. Many of these shows have rush or lotto policies, too. If you'd really give ANYTHING to see a particular show that's still running on Broadway, you can probably see it for $20-$40 without a problem.

Not everyone has the luxery of living in NYC or being able to get there a few times a year.

re: 5 Shows you would give ANYTHING to see.#64

True, but even so, if you'd give ANYTHING to see it, I assume you can work out a way to get to NYC once, even if it costs a considerable amount of money.

Saving up a considerable amount of money takes longer than you may think. I don't see anything wrong with people saying they'd give anything to see a show that's currently running when it could very well be closed six months from now.

Not so easy for a college student in Colorado. I can barely afford food, let alone go to NYC. And given the fact that I just went to NYC 6 months ago, I won't be able to go for a while.

If you would give ANYTHING to see these shows, you'd have already whored yourself out on the streets or sold an organ on the black market to get to NYC. Or seen the tour.

If you're going to post under the qualifer "ANYTHING", then do ANYTHING.
