Is she bitching about being underpaid?
Actually Lea Salonga is more of an "anti-diva". She's well-respected and famous of course, that deserves grand entrances and special introductions, having been in the original productions of two of the biggest and the longest running broadway shows. But she mentioned once (i read it somewhere), that's she's comfortable being a private person, being able to shop without getting mobbed etc., that's why she wants to keep it simple while getting respect for her work.
Sherie Renee Scott is a top of the line diva. She can outsing anyone (again my opinion)

It takes more than a voice and a vagina to be a "Diva" ... lets not ruin that word too.
LOL! Flaunt It, I'm gonna have to use that one!
I don't care about age... Sutton IS a diva. In my opinion.
So is Sherie.
Karen Walker, now THERE's a diva.
Let me rephrase myself. My idea of a DIVA is someone who is so good that without them the show would change significantly. My category of DIVAS:
Kristen Chenoweth
Sherie Rene Scott
Idina Menzel
Christine Ebersole
Sutton Foster
Kerry Buttler
These are the ones I have seen that have blown me out of the water. Sherie specifically was fantastic in every way. So, she is lead diva in this category - again, my opinion.

That is star quality... DIVA comes with far more offstage drama everyone on your list... Maybe Kristin. But the rest are just stars.
I think another qualifying factor in being a diva, besides the fact that they're brilliant onstage and have pleny of drama offstage is a role that carries the entire show. While Lea Salonga is a great Fantine, her current Broadway role is too small to carry an entire show...

I believe a Diva is a special breed all on its own. Not every actress, by getting a starring role, can call herself (or be called) a Diva. That being said Patti LuPone is THE Diva.

OH YES>. Anyone with STAGE MANAGEMENT approval in their contracts... DIVA.
DIVAs are people you would not want to associate with as friends except they are so damned talented/entertaining with all the drama.
Lea Salonga is definitely a diva!
By definition, a diva is a succesful singer originally use to refer to an opera singer (soprano). But now it is being used to refer to successful and popular performers, a woman of rare and outstanding talent.
It entails some negative connotation as well derived from an implication that a diva can be high-maintenance, fussy, arrogant, demanding, and difficult to work with.
So with this definition, I am not sure of I want Salonga to be called a diva because she is known to have a certain work ethic that everybody respect.
But if the basis is rare and outstanding talent, then Lea Salonga is a diva. No question. And hello, she's been around for quite a while now more than anybody else that you consider a diva.
Sierra already has a reputation? Do tell?
