I agree with the previous poster that the show is probably Schoolhouse Rock Live!. Yes it is not technically a "Broadway" musical (since it was never on Broadway)...but it is a musical and is licensed by MTI who has the rights to a lot of actual Broadway shows. That is my guess because it definitely is a 70's/80's TV series.
