Thats what they charge for BE, and while I think it's horrid, the economy doesn't seem to be affecting THEM.

If "we" will pay it....THEY will charge it.

Spiderman announced a top ticket price of 137 roxy, where's your thread of outrage and angry sputterings?

Roxy, I swear to f**ing God. You post six threads a day either bashing a show or bitching about taxes on the rich (CLASS WARFARE!), even though we all know you and Mrs R will buy premium tickets to it anyway.

Wah wah. Get me a symphony. Most people here are poor students who can barely afford student rush tickets. It's very hard for us to cry you the Nile every time you get your adult diapers in a twist about Barack Hussein taking your hard-earned money and giving it straight to welfare queens and druggies.

Almost every show's top price is 126.

For a show that's highly anticipated AND offering a discount code... I don't find this something to complain about. The actors need to make a living, and the show has a high running cost.

He bitched another thread about Spiderman.

re: Spiderman Question Feb 24, 07:18:39 PM
Since Taymor has been given a blank check, it is not a surprise.

Unless the economy improves, not many people are going to put down $ 137 especially for kids

To PG, the answer is no. Splurge is not the right word. Rip off would be better. If you want to pay to see it, enjoy.

Spiderman Question Feb 24, 07:07:11 PM
Can anybody hazard a guess what the top ticket price for this will be?

My friend and I got Orchestra level tickets for $65.00. They have a discount code out, so your b****ing is un-called for.

Rant, Wickud, Rant, Wickud, Rant! We're not gonna pay Rant! 'Cause everythink is Wickud!

i kinda agree. $126 is ridiculous. Maybe those high prices and making it seem "normal" now is what makes shows like "Title of Show" and "The Story of My Life" not survive...?
Peple spend ridiculous amounts of LARGE shows and don't think of paying for a ticket for a smaller show.
It is greed.
Why don't "investors" and "producers" of big shows start a trend and lower their ticket prices? I'm sure if they had people would more likely go to those shows...and then supporting a trend?
it's greed

that being said....I got my 9 to 5 ticket discounted from broadwaybox.com re: 9 to 5 Top Price

Because the cost of living has gone up, I think people are forgetting that the performers need to be paid! It's not at all greed, it's called people making a living.

$126 is fairly standard now, unfortunately. I don't see the reason to get worked up about this. It's not like the producers of 9 to 5 are setting some new precedent here.

I really don't know where you're going to go for a night of enterainment anywhere and not spend at least that much. If someone can't afford it, they can wait for the discounts. They will be there eventually if they aren't already.

[tos] & SOML were BOTH heavily discounted and they still couldn't fill seats. The top price had NOTHING to do with it.

I was not getting worked up, but defending the person who started the thread. Also...."cost of living?"
I don't have my facts, but I watched "Broadway: the Golden Age" and didn't the price of tickets sky-rocket "beyond" inflation or the "cost of living"??
it went too high, too fast...and now they wonder how to get people to see shows..it's becoming elitist in a way.

Living in New York City isn't cheap, the performers need to be able to pay the mortgage and get food. Yes, cost of living.

Spiderman's top price is not 137.
Group rates also include the service fees. Its top ticket is probably 126.50.

Very rare I pay full price to see a show, it is only expensive if you pay the full price.

TKTS in New York has more offers than London, so don't complain too hard.

Roxy is older he forgets. Stop these economy threads. He is also older so he is closer to death then most of us and he is worried he is spending too much money on shows. BUT THAT DOES NOT MEAN TO COME ON TO BWW TO COMPLAIN ABOUT IT!
