Your silence is very reassuring.

Hi Matt.

It really all depends on the person listening to it and/or what you are trying to acomplish with the playlist (I mean if you are introducing someone to Broadway)

If it's for you, as long as they are songs that you enjoy or have a meaning for you in theatre history, then it should be perfect. Other people are all about the classics and still others only want 1995 and later.

So really, its a personal call - and I would guess thats why not a lot of people have responded.

You learn to play the straight man, the lines become routine - never really saying what you mean - but i know the scene will change :)

That is true. This is my personal taste. And I don't have CDs like Hello Dolly and South Pacific. These days, I don't like to get the CD of a show unless I'm seeing it.

I'm very organized with my playlists. I have a playlist for all music, and separate playlists for all showtunes and all pop(ular) music. Then each show/artist has their own playlist.
It depends on whatever mood I'm in.
I have about 30 hours of real music and about 20 hours of showtunes. Mostly complete scores.
And I don't mean that showtunes aren't real music, it's just how I differentiate.
