The Old Globe Theatre now has a montage of video clips from the production. There are also short interviews with various cast members that features small pieces of the performances. It looks good!

Oh Harvey, I don't understand a word you're saying.
Leslie seems so sweet, but that wig needs to go.
Listening to Faith Prince in those clips made me think of what a divine Margaret Johnson she would have been in The Light in the Piazza.
Love what I see! Looking forward to it.

this is the show i am most looking forward to!
Man, I don't think I understood more than two syllables in a row in that song Harvey was singing at any one time...

It is a great show but it needs a little work before Broadway. Updated On: 10/26/07 at 03:07 PM
It looks alright. What is Harvey singing though?
I thought Faith Prince was Victoria Clark for a second.
That last clip was VERY "Piazza", which is fine with me. Harvey was a mess. I hope his character is homosexual- because if he isn't, then he is playing it ALL wrong. Leslie Kritzer was fine, but I couldn't really hear her. None of the songs seemed overly melodious. But I am optimistic. I mean, what a cast. What a creative team.
Although, it will fit nicely in the Walkter-Kerr.
I'm keeping an open mind but the show does look like a bit of a snooze fest. Of course I was a very vocal fan of Piazza so I guess I'm the target audience for this show.
Yes, Harvey's character is homosexual... there's a bit of a controversy over how open and out his character is, and if it's really that plausible for the time period. We'll see.
The theatre released those clips? You would think they would put out a little better quality than that. That makes Harvey look (and sound) terrible. I am sure the show is better than those clips would lead you to believe.

i think this is true.
i think its going to be a sweet & beautiful, low-key, charming show...& i think people are gonna love it!
It seems like a lovely show, but the audio quality is so awful.
I think it will be beautiful too. I love my noisy musicals but sometimes a little dreamy backdrop is enticing too. It seems so rich in culture and atmosphere from what I have seen and read so far. I don't know if it will still be there when I get a chance to come back to NY but if not, it will be a welcome tour.
If only we could get Grey Gardens out on tour. These haunting stories are becoming more and more attractive to me now. You go Harvey and keep us looking back so that we can go forward into a better space and time for the rest of our lives.
I just feel Harvey Fierstein keeps playing himself. Not sure I would enjoy him in this show.
The rest of it seemed quite enticing, Faith Prince and Leslie Kritzer are great reasons to see this show.

Those clips look like they belong on Youtube, not the theater's website.
The music sounds ravishing so far.

I saw it. It's dreary, old-fashioned and a bore.
The video clips are so bad in quality that it is impossible to get any reaction other than a poor one. And I was looking forward to seeing this in the spring.
I was very excited to see A Catered Affair. I saw it on Sat., Oct. 20th. and walked out of The Old Globe very disappointed. It's a bunch of unhappy people in an unpleasant situation and a bore. Clocking in at one hour and thirty five minutes with no intermission...it seemed like 4 hours.

my first thought when listening to that last clip of Faith Prince was that the music was much more sondheimesque than guettelish. on second listening i feet it even more strongly - but i also thought it was pretty - and derivative or not - that's nothing to sneeze at.
