Ah, the treasures to be found on old VHS tapes. Anyone know who was in the cast when this video was shot?

The times that I saw ACL, I always sat in the orchestra. Looking at this, I wish I had taken a balcony seat at some point because looking down on the choreography gives it such an interesting persepctive.

Is this the same as the widely circulated video bootleg of the original A Chorus Line? If so, I've heard it spoken of many times as the oldest full show video boot in existence, which seems unlikely, but I've never heard of any existing older.

This is from 6 years later. The cast that was on Broadway when Michael opened Dreamgirls.

Tharon Musser's lighting design was also best appreciated from the balcony. Brilliant work.

Yes. That was, even in the revival, a show where you best could appreciate it from the front mezzanine. Musser's work was, and still is, beyond remarkable.
You also better appreciate most choreography, but particularly Bennett's work here, when you sit a little above and can appreciate the depth and traffic patterns on stage,

This was actually the 1979 Shubert cast. Cheryl Clark as Cassie; Kathrynann Wright as Sheila; Deborah Henry as Val; Wayne Meladandri as Paul, Angelique Ilo as Judy ... I could go on and on....
