I think A CHORUS LINE will be a bigger seller for you. COMPANY is so overdone.

I was thinking we might get Stritch for Company though. I don't think there's a part for her in "Line". Well... maybe Cassie.
(I mean we did swing Karen Ziemba for 'House' & 'Garden', so star casting isn't that much of a stritch, uh stretch.

Oh darling - getting Ziemba and getting Stritch are two TOTALLY different things. Especially since you were putting Karen into a straight play...

Company is overdone? Really? I've never had a chance to see it live - but I think it's a brilliant show. I'd choose to see it over Chorus Line any day (not that I don't like Chorus Line, but, I mean, really - Company!!! Sondheim!!!)
"I don't really get the ending, all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang, and later she kissed him on the toilet, after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung, and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen, and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady? Please help me,thank u very much!"
Quote from someone on IMDB in reference to a movie he/she didn't understand. Such grammar!

A friend of mine who worked at GeVa this past year is going back to play Ophelia.
I think you may have met her.

Oh no...nobody famous...yet. But a magnificent actress. Lori Prince is her name. She's a dear friend and I will unabashedly shill for her any day of the week.

I saw both original productions of "Company" and "A Chorus Line". When "Company" was over, I was glad to get up and stretch and go get a bite to eat. When "A Chrous Line" was over, I felt exhilerated and wanted to see it again!

Ophelia is rejoining a theatre that is bracing for that production... It should make for excellent overtime pay though.
I think the move to 'A Chorus Line' may have also been motivated by the need for a bigger financial success.
We've had a very artistically satisfying season with almost ZERO name recognition. Sadly that has had an impact on single ticket sales. (Ophelia's show has great name recognition, but I think alot of people are afraid of it.)

I like a chorus line better. I totally agree that Company is over done.

SOmetimes I wish that there were more guy solos in a Chorus Line. But so much of that show has to do with your character thats its amazing how much you fall in love with them. Like Paul for example. HE has his whole drag show monologue and then you want him to make it most of all, and then he hurts his knee. This is an amzing show.

both shows can stand on their own merits. i agree that both are brilliant works of art and both shows benefitted (sp) from the talent of the late great michael bennett.

Well, considering your Hamlet has boobies and a famous brother, it could make for an interesting selling point!

I have yet to see Company on stage but as much as I love A Chorus Line, I still think it needs to sleep for a little while longer.

Listen... Stritch can do anything.
If you need someone to play 30-40, she can do it.
Hell, I'd cast her as Shelley in 'Bat Boy'. She's a machine.
