A FARANELLI question

I originally had an onstage seat for the show but was unable to use it because of a blizzard. This week the box office staff was gracious enough to issue a comp to me but all the stage seats were taken so I was seated in the rear mezz. I'm not complaining; I'm grateful for their understanding. However the dim, atmospheric lighting and my own damaged eyes, made it difficult to see the actors' faces all the time from that vantage point.

My question is: do all three "voices" sing at each show or is one singer assigned whole performance? The program lists 3 singers but doesn't say anything more about which performances they were singing in. Whatever the case, the singing was sublime.

Apologies if this topic has been addressed before.

There is only the one singer at each performance. Unless, of course, the singer is taken ill at intermission and an understudy must go on. But that's pretty rare.

I've heard two of the three listed singers and I agree with you. They were both wonderful.
