OK Eric--you've never led me wrong; I'll stream it on Amazon later tonight...
Also surprised about the lack of Rocky Horror. It may not be an excellent film, but it's arguably more than the sum of its parts.
Hello, Dolly! is a film musical that manages to get better with age and repeated viewings, where others do the exact opposite.
Little Shop as #1? Not even close, even though I would definitely put in the top 20.
No Oliver! is a huge mistake. I would actually put that near the #1 spot. I do like some of the "fringe" musicals they listed. All in all, it's an interesting list even if I don't agree with it.
Mine would be something like this:
The Sound of Music
Oliver!
Fiddler on the Roof
Cabaret
Mary Poppins
Moulin Rouge!
Beauty and the Beast (Disney)
Chicago
The Music Man (1962)
Scrooge (1971)
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
Hello, Dolly!
Dreamgirls
My Fair Lady
Tommy
Hair
Gypsy (1962)
Funny Girl
Little Shop of Horrors
Aladdin (Disney)
