It was not a classic when it was revived in 1977.... it is now in 2009. I personally believe it will do well. In this economy recognizable titles are a lot more likely to succeed.

"If we don't live happily ever after at least we survive until the end of the week!" -Kermit the frog "I need the money... it costs a lot to look this cheap!" -Dolly P. "Oh please, Over at 'Gypsy' Patti LuPone hasn't even alienated her first daughter yet!" Mary Testa in "Xanadu" "...Like a drunk Chita Rivera!" Robin de Jesus in "In the Heights"

"B*tch, I don't know your life." -Xanadu After that if he still doesn't understand why you were uncomfortable and are now infuriated, kick him again but this time with Jazz Hands!!! -KillerTofu

I too find it hard to believe it can sustain a weekly gross above $500,000 for a long enough period of time. Fortunately, with the reviews for Guys and Dolls, and the bad worth of mouth on WSS, Hair might actually have a shot at the revival Tony. Still, we all know the Tony for revival doesn't sell tickets.

I'm looking forward to seeing it. Couldn't get a ticket in the park. REAAAAALLY disappointed Jonathan Groff is no longer in the cast.

BobbyMaler- Since when does WSS have bad word of mouth?

I'm a professional. Whenever something goes wrong on stage, I know how to handle it so no one ever remembers. I flash my %#$&. "Jayne just sat there while Gina flailed around the stage like an idiot."

ah so classic show just means old?
and you would be a great politician, because you didn't answer my question.
again, how many months did the last revival last?
and you think Hair will last in THIS economy? where banks are dying, and unemployment is almost double digits? Why in THIS wonderful economy will it work, and in what economy would it not work.
Again, you are talking to "the prophet" here as someone else deemed me already.
Wss has great word of mouth since it arrived in NYC. I think it will win the tony for revival. This show will be long forgotten.

I don't get why you down things so much...at least give a show a chance.
