Glad to see BWW shine some Encores! love on Rachel York. You look at these videos and just scratch your head at how versatile she is!
I did get to see Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. I loved every second of it. I thought Megan Hilty was terrific, but so was everyone else. Too bad some of the performances didn't get their due with critics because of the SMASH frenzy. I especially liked Stephen R. Buntrock as the zipper king. He brought down the house with his carrots (not carats)!
Rando also added some wonderful little farcical touches in his staging that allowed each of the characters shine. It was incredibly polished considering the short rehearsal period.
We'll never know, but I wonder what Rachel's take on Lorelei would have been like.

Rachel York is a treasure. Fabulous in Kiss Me kate. Fabulous in Victor Victoria.
Fabulous in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes
But keep her away from bad shows like 101 Dalmatians (oy) and Ghostlight (oy)
No one... not anyone can save a bad show. Not even a consummate pro like Rachel York.
Rachel York was the perfect Dorothy in Gentlemen Prefer. Blondes. She will rock the tour of Anything Goes.

I agree that Rachel was at her best in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. Her voice sounded great and I loved her abandon in several of the numbers.
The only show I've seen that disappointed me that starred York was Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Something was wrong with the sound but her voice didn't sound right.
