Ah, yes, La Boheme was great! Except, opera really isn't my thing and I was a bit bored with the show. I think I would have enjoyed it more if I sat in the orchestra. Also, I liked the set in Urinetown. Heck, I liked all the sets in the shows I've seen, except in Seussical.
The set for "La Boheme" was simply amazing. By far my most favorite set to date.
Thanks Wickedfan! I was racking my brain and the internet trying to figure that one out.
i lvoed the gypsy set for the most recent revival
Do you think they added that whole backstage thing to the shubert or was that the shubert backstage?
I also really liked the Urinetown set with the way people come in from the back of the house(one of the funniest openings ever!)
All of Eugene Lee's sets are breathtaking. Whether it is the Showboat sailing onstage in "Showboat", or Mother and Father's House in "Ragtime" to the beautiful designs for "Wicked". (Was I the only one who noticed the similarities of the clocks in Ragtime and Wicked? I also think Maria Bjornston's (RIP) sets for "Phantom" were so grand and beautiful. It fits the mood perfectly, so haunting. Also, people seem to be forgetting the sets for "Miss Saigon" and "Cats" designed by John Napier who also designed the stunning "Sunset Blvd." I don't think I've ever seen a "bad set", because quite frankly, if you're good enough to design for Broadway, I think you know your s***.

Not on Broadway...but the set for "Autant en Emporte le Vent" in France is probably the best I have seen.

The musical ASPECTS OF LOVE was mostly set in Southern France, near the Pyrenees. When the set unfolded ( the set split into two to reveal the mountain backdrop and the deep blue sky) it was so beautiful that the audienced gasped and spontaneously clapped at the Broadhurst Theater.

I remember being one of the people going "Ah.........". That was a truly beautiful set!! Thanks for the reminder.
shermanslave - An Inspector Calls is the only play I saw both on Broadway and in London just to see the set again. I love the play, but I had to see that house one more time (and the rain). I still get chills when I think of the j'accuse crowd in the house at the end.
