We are all different. We all enjoy different things. And we should be allowed express how we feel without the fear of getting bullied.
Then allow everyone to be what YOU label "bitchy," "arrogant," "nasty or "negative" without bullying everyone into acting exactly the way YOU think they should.
If you don't like what someone says, don't read their thread or post. If that doesn't work, fight with them. When you get tired of fighting, melt down, leave the board and come back with a different screen name.
But for Patti's sake! DON'T become one of those sanctimonious prigs who always criticizes everybody else's behavior because only YOU know how we should behave.
HummingAlong, I totally agree with you, but all we can control is ourselves, so I just make sure I am never a part of that rudeness.
I received a PM a year or so ago from someone who has since left the boards, thanking me for always being positive. I just try to only post and read threads where people who love Broadway as much as I do are talking about it in a fun way.

Sally - that's so cool! I agree - I always try to just make a positive impact. unfortunately i find myself allowing some negativity to creep in, but as a general rule, i try to stay positive and look for something good or at least constructive in every post I make! (Not to say the world is all rainbows and butterflies, but I try to balance the rest...)
Cheers!

There's nothing wrong with wanting to elevate the level of discourse. This place all too often skews to the negative, and frequently degenerates into schoolyard behavior. As a result, I spend much less time here as time goes on. The same is true of other industry people - and that's too bad.
