Alan Bennett's The History Boys will return to the West End's Wyndham's Theatre exactly one year since the beginning of its previous run at that venue.
Nicholas Hytner's production, which for this revival will be re-created by Paul Miller, is scheduled to open Dec. 20. Desmond Barrit will star as the maverick school-teacher Hector, the role created by Richard Griffiths.
The cast will also include Elizabeth Bell, Tim Delap, Daniel Fine, Andrew Hawley, Ryan Hawley, Thomas Howes, Danny Kirrane, Alton Letto, Sam Phillips and Nathan Stewart-Jarrett.

Desmond is a fantastic Hector.
Better than Richard, in my opinion *ducks*

But what about the boys? Are they adorable?
I'm sort of curious to see what a different director and a new set of actors could do with the material.

He's such a versitile performer who can turn his hand to anything from Snoopy in Charlie Brown to Hector to Dr Scott in fishnets in Rocky Horror. I didnt see the paly the first time around and didnt enjoy the movie but now i think i will visit the Wyndams to see what most say is the better performance of Hector.

Wowza. Super hot. I don't know if it's just the photo, but they look very, very white for some reason!
The one all the way on the left is gorgeous.

It doesn't work on my PC either. Too bad.
I agree. Israel is filled with absolutely stunning men and women. And the accents! Dreamy.

Posted: 8/13/07 at 5:29pmYou're right, Desmond was a very good Hector. I don't know if I'd place him as better than Richard but he definitely played it differently and was at the least just as enjoyable.
