A Tale of Two Cities Casting#0
Posted: 6/27/06 at 11:15pmAwhile back, I heard that the casting of one of the male leads for A TALE OF TWO CITIES is set with Cheyenne Jackson to play Charles Darnay. I was wondering whether or not there is any information out there on the rest of the casting. I could certainly see the hero, Sydney Carton, being played by Terrence Mann. Although he plays evil so well, it would be great to see him play the "good guy" for a change. Updates anyone? Other casting choices? How about the female lead?

They did readings with Cheyenne as Charles Darnay.
I'm pretty sure, he'll do the run on Broadway
When or if that comes to light.

Posted: 6/28/06 at 12:41amI haven't read the book in years, but aren't Sydney Carton and Charles Darnay supposed to look almost identical? Not that I have anything against suspension of disbelief.

I also read the story in my high school literature book. Well, most of it...part of it anyway. I did see the old movie on tv a long time ago. As I remember it, the two characters were supposed to look alike, whether or not it was supposed to be exactly alike, I'm not sure; but I can tell you that I remember thinking that the two actors didn't look anything alike at all. Charles Darnay was played by a somewhat younger looking guy, while Sydney Carton was played by an older (looking anyway)actor. Other than wondering why the others were fooled by Sydney taking Charles' place at the end, it was still a sad, but romantic ending.
Re: James Barbour. Isn't he otherwise engaged right now with legal problems?
