The Asolo Rep Theatre in Sarasota Florida will be premiering the new work In October - November (while still eyeing Broadway) according to Playbill. Two other out of town try-outs may occur. I'm glad to hear that its still being worked on. I really like this piece.

Oh, I really hope this goes somewhere. Like Broadway, when it's ready to. I saw a concert of sorts about eight years ago, where a bunch of talented Broadway people performed highlights from the score, and it's VERY Les Mis-esque. Not in that Santoriello is ripping it off or anything, because she isn't, but it has the same epic, sweeping quality that made LM so popular in the first place. I can't wait to see it on stage.

Posted: 3/6/07 at 1:58amWhen I initially found out Tony Walton was going to be set designer, I had no doubt the set would be top notch. Seeing more of the renderings makes me even more excited. I always envisioned the set making use of spiral staircases. The three story multiuse portions of the set are great, and the red hues used are particularly striking. I am very interested to see how Christopher Akerlind's lighting design will play on this set. Here's to hoping that a large enough theatre will open up once it is ready for Broadway.

So I just found larger copies of the rendering of the show curtain and pictures of the set models on Paul Wontorek's blog. It's an old entry, but I thought I'd post it for those of you who haven't seen the larger images yet. You can see much more detail.

Oh. My. God. Just when I thought I had finally outgrown going to see shows just to study the sets. Tony Walton is still amazing. I'd probably go to see 'Idina and Hugh Read the Yellowpages' if he was going to design it.
On a similar note, does anyone know if Ming Cho Lee will ever take a break from Yale and come back to Broadway?
