No, THIS is the most hilarious quote there:

"i think it's absolutely HORRIBLE! especially that Sweeney is being played by Johnny Depp. and that Michael Cerveris wasn't even asked."

After reading some of the posts on these boards, I think I see why FOLLIES won't work with the audiences of today.

"but i dnt get it wat iz a foolies.. watz dat. i hurd da movie haz old ppl sngin n stuff. but hoo wantz 2 c old pplz singeeng and dncin"

My example of what would happen.

More winning quotes!

"First of all let me say that I have zero interest in this movie whatsoever, because it sounds absolutely grotesque.

Then let me say that I have never seen the play so perhaps I've got no right to judge. "

I might have to just wait for this to come out on DVD so I don't have to listen to the girl Johnny Depp groupies in the audience going "OMIGOD!" every time he slits a throught.

LMAO. At this from the FAQ from IMDB.

Who the heck are Michael Cerveris, Patti LuPone and Manoel Felciano?

Granted they aren't star names. Google. Google. Google. You can even find Patti & Michael on IMDB.

Why cant the whole Revival cast be in the movie?

Someone is really that dumb?

That's only the tip of the iceberg.

I really don't like Tim Burton or Johnny Depp or Helena Bonham Carter. Of course I'll see it, I'm just so nervous.

EDIT: I guess that, in the end, my iceberg is more like an icecube.....

I'm with you, theatrekid. As soon as I heard they were making the movie, I wasn't sure what to think -- but when I heard Johnny Depp/Helena Bonham Carter I REALLY wasn't sure what to think.
Call the understudy / I can't go on tonight / I'm drinking with my buddy / I'm getting good and tight / Before they raise the curtain I'll be higher than a kite / So call the understudy I can't go on tonight

I know it's an asinine point to argue, but his name is Sacha Baron Cohen, not Borat. Despite what his wildly insane and immature acting characters may lead you to believe, he's a smart, funny, talented individual. If you've ever seen him give an interview as himself you'd see what I mean. I can guarantee you that if involved with the project he'll approach it with the respect and dignity it deserves.

I remember I told my brother:
Me: They're getting Sacha Baron Cohen to play Pirelli!
Bro: Who?
Me: ...Borat.
Bro: Oh! ....is he playing the character AS Borat?
Me: ....what!?
Bro: You know, Sacha playing Borat playing Pirelli?

I walked away.
