Someone told me that while she was playing Fantine she hid easter eggs on the set for the children to find and somehow it ruined to set and it had to be replaced.
Has anyone else heard something like that?

Posted: 6/12/09 at 1:15pmWere they real eggs? That could spell disaster for the one egg the kids didn't find...

Posted: 6/12/09 at 2:29pmIts possible one broke and no one knew and that could rust up one of the tracks in the deck that the baricade slides on. But to replace a whole set piece sounds a bit drastic to me. unless it stunk things up and they could not get rid of the smell.

My impression from the book is that some were never found and got stuck, so when the set transforms into the barricade I guess the eggs stopped it from moving along the tracks and it broke.
But I agree, Justin, it sounds strange that the ENTIRE barricade had to be replaced.

What happened was sinse it was such a serious show she thought it would be fun for the kids if they could have an easter egg hunt on the baracade with hollow eggs containing money.
Once she cleared it with the stage manager, several dozen eggs were hid on the baracade set but a few (four if i recall correctly) were un-found.
Then later on one of those eggs screwed up the turn-table mechanism so it did not work and she was apparently wrote up to EQUITY - again.
