So i ventured into the city last night to see "Whose Afraid of Virginia Wolf" with my parents, who feel i should be exposed to all types of culture, from comidic musicals to serious plays. The day/evening turned into a star-studded event.
After getting out of the car and walking towards time square for a little shopping, we saw a crowd of people around the "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" stage door. John Lithgow had just come out and was singing autographs...i had nothing for him to sign but i got some good pics of him smiling as he signed fans playbills. Star sighting #1.
We ate dinner at Virgil's Real BBQ, one of our fav NYC spots near the theatre district, a laid back dinner. So i look to the table a few feet away, pretty much across from us and i see a women holding a dog, and im thinking, how rude, a dog in a restaurant. She puts the dog down and i see her face, its Jessica Simpson. Now i'm not a big fan, but it was cool to see someone who, as much as i hate to admit, is a star, with her show on MTV and her music. Since i'm not a fan, i didnt really feel the need to ask for a pic or autograph, and it woulda been rude considering she was eating dinner with her friends and be a normal person. My family and i just kinda looked over and said enjoy your dinner as we left for the show.
The show was brilliant. The dark comedy and hurful words were played out incredibly by the 4 stars, including Bill Irwin and Kathleen Turner. So my new habbit is waiting outside the stage door for autographs and a chance to meet the stars. The door was quiet, there were only like 20 people there tops. I met all 4 stars and got their autographs. I took pics with Mireille Enos(Honey) and Bill Irwin, Kathleen Turner would not take a pic with me but i got some good shots of her and a great signature.
So the show was amazing and the night was filled with stars. This is why people truly love NYC, the chance to meet stars!

Woah that's pretty cool. I, myself only have alos had some star-studded experinces including two trips to The Boy From Oz. First time- John Travolta and Kelly Preston were in the audience and of course the star-studded audience at the last show with Joel Grey, Matt Damon, and Barbara Walters. But other than that my meeting celebrites is usually when I wait at the stagedoors.

Most star studded I got was the Naked Cowboy and a TRL VJ.
Yea, i mean i've met Idina Menzel, Kristin Chenoweth, Norbert Leo Butz and Joey McIntyre and more at stage doors, but John Lithgow and Jessica Simpson were truly by chance. I mean i walked by while John was singing stuff and i go to Virgil's all the time. It's def why people love NYC tho, you can see anybody!
