Yes, as you get older Halloween is the holiday that looses the most meaning, I'd say. I'm 21 now and I spent the evening with friends hanging out ot my apartment watching The Exorcist. Now THAT was fun! That movie is pure genius and really very funny!
"Who are you?"
"I'm the devil!... Now kindly undo these straps."

All was quiet until this evening when sometime during the 19th to 20th hour the booming sound of fireworks. They would not stop and sounded more like a war and shooting in the streets. I was convinced we were being attacked or it was guerrilla warfare, but I kept working on the new Quiz. The booming must have lasted at least 10-15 minutes. After nearly 30 years in NYC I yet recall fireworks on Nov 1st! All Soul's Day?

Yes Vicious, I live in the general Lincoln Center area of Manhattan. Howdy, Neighbor!

Halloween was very busy in my neighborhood. I was really enjoying the little kids coming around they are so cute. Then I was bit by a spider and that ended the evening as my hand swelled up and it still hurts.

Dollypop: Why don't you freeze the prunes and give them out next year?

What a wonderful suggestion, Victoria! However, I've already made a prune tarte and it came out splendid. (I love prunes and a good prune Danish sends me into ecstacy!)

Sorry to hear you were bitten by a spider. Were you dressed as Little Miss Muffet at the time?

We had a quiet evening as well. Only 3 kids. I have LOTS of left over candy.

I'll take it to work tomorrow. The "Kids" down there will like it.

Have to say one of the cutest bumper stickers I've ever seen was:

Start a movement--eat a prune.

I trust I need say no more on the subject. re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: A very quiet Halloween

You know, prunes are a very healthy snack food!

I was in the village watching Caroline Or Change.
I loved it. A great way to spend Halloween.

I'm staying with my dad in South Jersey. He said they've had trick-or-treaters in their community the last few years, so I had to run out and buy candy last minute. Then... nothing. Not one child, even though I had seen some further down the street early in the evening. Ah, well...

Salem, MA...the "witch" city was AWESOME! I had a huge party with about 25 of my friends and relatives. We partied from 2 pm 'til 2 am. One of my friends was "Special Ed" from Crank Yankers. The costume looked so good. He was a hit when we wnt out. And by the way...I know some of ya'll were talking about The Exorcist...the guy who lives right above my wife and I in the two family house we live in is the son of William Peter Blatty (author of the Exorcist). Anyway...Halloween rules!
