Halloween has been very quiet in my neighborhood (Suffolk County, Long Island). Only three trick-or-treaters came to my door, but that may be because the word circulated quickly about me giving out prunes again this year. I've spoken to my neighbors and they had about the same number. However, there's been no violence and no harsh pranks.
How have things been in your areas?
BTW: Does anyone know what I can do with the leftover prunes?

Very quiet in my apt. building. However a few blocks away on W. 69th Street was the annual 2 block children's Halloween spook-fest. A good time was had by all.
Oh yes, an acting couple who live in my building are having their annual Halloween fete. Quel chic. It's still going on.
Bulldog.

Halloween Just isn't what it use to be. When I was a little kid the streets where filled with kids.
Today before it got dark there where more kids out then last year but still not that many maybe 7 groups of kids came to the door. Then after dark when my friends and I went out there was like no one out. It's terrible. I miss the good old Halloween like the one year when it was poring but my frineds and I went out any! That year my one friend spent the month of Nov. out of school because he got sick from being out in the rain.
There where no really bad pranks around here either. Some toilet paper in trees and that's about it.

Penny, is English your second language? I couldn't make out whole chunks of your message.
I'm available for tutoring.

Posted: 11/1/03 at 12:16amOK I admit other posts of mine have been pretty bad but I don't understand why you are having trouble with this one. I went back and changed it but I do not understand why you had a problem with it the first time.

I'll give PennyLou a helping hand.

Posted: 11/1/03 at 9:12amI work at a high school in Jersey City. We were told to leave as early as possible and to expect kids throwing eggs, frozen eggs, and frozen potatoes! We were also told the night before Halloween and Halloween were gang initiation days and the rumor was new gang members were instructed to slash a teacher. Good times! Fortunately I can report none of this happened and both days were quiet.

Posted: 11/1/03 at 11:35amI was surprised...not too many kids came by! In previous years there were more. We got rid of about half our candy.

A few blocks away on W 69th? Are you in my Lincoln Center neighbourhood, Bulldog?
I'm ASMing for a show, we had a performance last night and then a party at the theatre afterwards. I heard about said party last night, so I threw on my dance leotard and went as a Fosse dancer. That's probably what prevented me from spending a penny on drinks. Sex, she sells.

Bulldog, Vicious and I live a stones throw from each other.
Barry & I went to an art opening a mutual friend had on the Upper East Side. No trick or treaters in my building. But it was fun to see the little tkes marching up and down Columbus Avenue in costume.
Were you at Chatterbox to see John "Mr. Scrumptious" Tartaglia on Thursday, Vicious?

Seeing all of the different costumes is so much fun! I must admit, however, that I felt rather old this year (and the funny thing is that I am only 16)! I saw all of these little kids in their Scooby-Doo and Harry Potter costumes, and thought to myself "I remember when that was me".....Oh well, at least I got to sit around eating all of the left-over candy, hehehehe!!!
Later!
