QM- I had no IDEA Zoser was directing the architects in "Another Pyramid"! That explains some things! I thought he was just tryin' to hip and kewl like those dancing ministers and was trying to break dance but just couldn't cut it! Wow!
Now I feel really, really dumb. What was I smoking when I saw that show?
And yes, Closer to Heaven is so much fun! There are so few people on these boards with any understanding of that show.

I was also at the matinee today. I have only seen the show twice before, both times with the original cast. Unfortunatly, today's production was no where near as powerful.
I adored Ta'rea Campbell. She was very convincing and gave a lot of feeling in her performance: she nearly moved me to tears several times. In my opinion, she stole the show. Adam was his usual amazing self and the young man with the long name who played Mereb was wonderful, as well. However, Mickey Dolenz left much to be desired in both his acting and his voice. I also felt Lisa Brescia as Amneris was lacking in emotion, she had no 'umpf' to coin a phrase. Her "Strongest Suit" lacked the comic effect I remember and her "Every Story..." was lackluster.
All in all, I had a great time - not because the show was strong but because I was reminiscing a better and more convincing cast. I love the show but I don't believe I would feel the same if today were my first time.

WHAT!!! Emcee? You don't remember losing your Adam virginity?!!! Well, I surely do... I think I lost it twice. First time when I saw him Rent without really realizing I had lost it and then for the second time when I saw him in Aida... I knew then alright!!!!

re: AIDA again! 8.25 Matinee#42
Posted: 8/26/04 at 12:56amhahaha! No, I don't remember. I was so preoccuppied with the show itself that I paid Adam very little mind. I remember thinking "yeah, he's good" but that was about it. I met him, too, but was too shy to talk to him. I could kick myself now.

Don't worry, when I first saw him it didn't really klick for me either. That happened later... and look at me now. All obsessed!

haha you lost you adam virginity and you were 14 young and stupid. haha. Too funny. It just sounds wrong.
When I lost my "Adam virginity" - boy that sounds weird - I saw his tushie (cabaret). Actually I CAN say that Adam was my first....1st B'way show that is.
re: AIDA again! 8.25 Matinee#48
Posted: 8/26/04 at 1:18amIt does sound wrong. First I was going to change it, then I thought it'd be funnier that way.
