Awww, you definitely should next time Emcee. I'm sure she'd be flattered that you remembered her, and thought highly enough of her to say hi and pay her a little compliment.
But when did New Hampshire become--Such a backward wasteland of seatbelt hating crazies?...I mean, only 40 people actually live there. The others are just visitors who come for the tax-free liquor and three inches of novelty coastline. John Hodgeman on The Daily Show (1-30-07)

EVERY time, my friend tells me how flattered she'd be, and I know she'd probably be happy, but I'll bite my tongue and say something stupid, or trip over my shoe. I'm very suave like that. But seriously, I saw her a few weeks ago at the dress rehearsal for PURLIE at City Center, then before that she was at one or two of Adam's shows in November. It's kind of weird. I get all silly and excited.
Maya's singing voice (all I really know of her, other than that she's beautiful) just isn't my cup of tea, at least as AIDA. It wasn't strong enough.
*cries* This is going to make me bring back my sad avatar, isn't it?

Uh oh, RIP making a return appearance?!?
And you should totally say something next time. Make it short and sweet, and if she initiates a convo, go from there. I don't know you very well, but I'm sure you could squeak out an "I just wanted you to know that I really enjoyed Aida and your work in it," or something to that extent w/o a total disaster ensuing!

I actually also have this one that's kind of pretty, but using it would mean having to bid farewell to the Diva.
haha, I probably could. I'm not always a disaster!

Ah go for Emcee...I'd say you'd never see her again if things went badly, but it sounds like that's not the case, since you seem to bump into her quite a bit!

It's probably because of my knack for chasing that Adam guy.
He's when I'm a disaster, though.

OBC all the way! Heather was simply powerful, Sherie Rene cracked me up and broke my heart all at once-and there is only one adam pascal. Quasi-acting and all. He looked like he wanted to hump Heather so bad he could taste it-which made it that much more amazing to watch.
MAYA DAYS IS AWFUL. She was an awful Mary in Superstar (constantly pointing her finger and indicating). She was a WORSE Aida.
Trailer Dayne...oh lawd. I wish they had subtitles, but I'll tell you what-she didn't need a mic! She should start a career as a pit singer.
Thursday Farrar as Aida, who I saw when Heather passed out midshow, was just a damn mess. They fired her a week later.
Damien Perkins was the perfect Mereb.
Toni Braxton needs to take a cardio class, and learn how to breather.
Michelle Williams...well. God bless her trying to get away from Beyonce for the summer.

Quasi-acting! I love it. The Adam/Heather chemistry does bad things to my hormones.

I saw the full OBC twice, and then once with Simone as Aida. I have to say, the OBC BLEW ME AWAY. They were just truly amazing. The first time I saw it, I was 10 years old and had seriously never seen anything like it (not that Aida was my first Broadway show, but I think one of the first that I REALLY enjoyed). My family bought the OBCR and we listened to it all the time.
It's kinda cool, because right after I saw it with Simone, I e-mailed Heather Headley and asked her when she was coming back and told her she was amazing, blahblahblah. And she responded back! It was really exciting, haha.

I enjoyed Will Chase in the role of Radames more than Adam Pascal (although Adam was great in the last show).
My favorite AIDA was Deborah Cox. I saw Toni in the show as well and I have the OBC recording but Deb really brought those songs to life for me.

Yup, Simone was supposed to be Aida but Schlele understudied her. Now this was still in my fairly early days in theatre so I'm not sure if I was hard on her because I was disappointed in having an understudy, though something I still remember is particularly at the end of "Dance of the Robe," the singing by everyone, the chorus, Felicia, Adam was fantastic and then at the end of Dance of the Robe where the chorus is so amazing, Aida is supposed to completely overpower them at the end and I remember I didn't think Schele really did it with the power necessary. Hard to judge acting and chemitry that much b/c I was in the balcony hrmph. But you should totally talk to her! If you really wanna make an impression, I'd say sing one of Nehebka's lines, but I'm probably one of the few insane enough to do something like that, especially considering I don't have one of the world's greatest voices. Oh well.
"If there was a Mount Rushmore for Broadway scores, "West Side Story" would be front and center. It snaps, it crackles it pops! It surges with a roar, its energy and sheer life undiminished by the years" - NYPost reviewer Elisabeth Vincentelli

Okay, Ionly saw the OBC, but I think they're the greatest
Heather was amazing and her vocals are terrific. And the chemistry between her and Adam was...*trails off at the thought*
Sherie *bows to the goddess* just plain out blew me away. Her vocals, and her comedic lines in the beginning were great, and then at the end, her acting won me over too. (and she's GORGEOUS!)
Adam was shirtless, "Fortune Favors the Brave" and "Elaborate Lives" and when he just grabs Aida's face and kisses her...I nearly died of joy...need I say more? Adam is the ultimate Radames...ever. (he's gorgeous too)
