While looking for a musical for my university to do next year, I came across Amour and I really like it. It's a sweet, small scale musical with a hummable score. After doing some reasearch, I realized it only ran for 17 performances or something really short like that. Anyone see the show? Any thoughts?

I didn't see it, but I love the score. I guess the biggest problem would be figuring out how to stage the whole walk through walls thing...

Yeah, I really like the score. I think it's a good example of something being "fluff" entertainment, but still being smart about it.
But why did the show do so poorly on Broadway? Was there an out-of-town tryout?
I was supposed to see the final preview, but due to many technical diffiulties, Opening was put off a bit. I saw an unfinished product, that was nonetheless professional in every aspect of the word. I found the show utterly charming. It wasn't pretending to be a landmark musical or a super-smash.
It was up against Hairspray, and I heard several comparisons during intermission and afterwards. Apples and oranges! It was like saying there was no room for Sidshow and Lion King the same season.
This show would be a really great experience, and it's never done. Have a great show!
I think it's a little, charming show with a cute score. I don't think much of the score is incredibly good, but it's certainly okay.
I would love to design the sets for this show someday.

There were some charning parts of the show. Some was a little lame. The WORST thing for me was only having 3 musicians in the pit!!! This show needed a full orchestra. I love OTHER PEOPLE STORIES and AMOUR and both leads were wonderful.

Yeah. I hope the rights are available. I think it's a fun show and I agree that the technical parts of the show would be fabulous.
It seems like it had a "who's who" of Broadway talent with Norm Lewis, Malcom Gets, Melissa Errico, and Christopher Fitzgerald.

Anyone know who owns the rights to it? Which licensing company?
