I heard the guy who's playing Czolgosz is amazing.

LOL...I'm talking about myself of course. It's a good production, come see it. We were sold out last night, and this afternoon's matinee was almost packed. Tickets can be found on the web at www.openeyeproductions.org

I saw it last night.
This production held me tight so credit should be given for that. Tickets are only $15 and the space is small with scarce sets. I noticed in the program that many of the performers do other work for the company. The actress who plays Sara Jane Moore is also the Marketing Director. The actress who plays Squeaky Fromme sounded exactly like Annie Golden.
I'm listening to the Broadway Revival Recording right now and kicking myself for not having seen that production. It's a fabulous show.
I'm real in love with Mr. Sondheim once more.

PS - Congrats Distinctive Baritone. You were awesome!

Aw gee, thanks :)

But yeah, it's only $15 because the space we're renting is the Storefront Theatre, which is owned by the City of Chicago as part of their arts program. So basically, the production is being funded by the city so tickets are supposed to be cheap, as they're trying to promote the arts, etc.

It's a relatively bare-bones set because hey, it's non-Equity and it's a limited budget. But the cast is very good, and it's great material, as twisted as it is. I really think it's one of Sondheim's best scores.

And, in a shameless act of self-promotion, check out the rave review from the Chicago Sun-Times!

You bet it's good.
I was listening to Chicago Public Radio and chose Open Eye/Storefront over Steppenwolf, Chicago Shakespeare and a few other goodies. I'm very glad I did.
Congrats on great reviews!

AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!! (Runs to Chicago).

If Percy Blakeney were in Les Mis....

Percy: Sink me! If it isn't Javvurt!
Javert: Zsah-vair, it's pronounced Zsah-vair.
Pecry: But it's spelled J-A-V-E-R-T Javvurt.
Javert: Repeat after me Zsah...Zsah....
Percy: Oh! Zsa-Zsa! Like the Gabor sister! Well I personally have always prefered Eva.
Javert: (Looks for gun)
