...didn't hear too much in the way of an actual TRIBUTE to him. The opening sentence of the speech recognized his 'life and career', but they didn't elaborate in any way.
It sounded more like an acceptance speech. It was about her. And the cast.
Not Gary.
There was nothing bad about it. It just wasn't about Gary.
As I wrote originally, I never felt they needed an actual person to be a character in the show. The same humor and laughter could have been found without adding pain and hurt to an individual.
Just my opinion.
"Two drifters off to see the world. There's such a lot of world to see. . ."
