I saw the final press preview of TALE OF TWO CITIES last night and was surprised to see an understudy slip for Aaron Lazar's role.
His understudy, Michael Halling -- who was playing the role for the first time -- was incredible. I was really impressed.
But I do hope Aaron is OK and that he makes it to Opening Night tonight.
I loved Michael Halling in both IN MY LIFE and THE PAJAMA GAME...glad his first performance in Aaron's role went well last night.
Michael Halling was excellent in the Les Miz tour. Hope Aaron Lazar is okay, but glad Halling's gone on!

He is sick. He talks about it on his blog:

Hopefully he feels better soon.
Thanks for the link. Sounds like he made the right decision to take off last night. I hope he's able to make it to the Opening tonight.
I was talking to someone I know in the cast. She said that she spoke to Adam before the show. He said that he will be there tonight even if he has to be carried off in a body bag after the show.
From what I understand he took last night off so that he could go on tonight. To me at least it sounds like a logical choice. That if you had to choose between either the opening night or the final preview to take off you would take off the final preview rather then opening night.
