Does anyone know for sure when he is going to rejoin wicked? I've been searching and one site says Jan 23rd the other says Jan 20th. I am just checking to see if anyone knows for sure.
https://www.broadwayworld.com/article/MADtvs_Nicole_Parker_Joins_Wicked_as_Elphaba_Beginning_January_16_20090107 is the first thing I found.

If not is Kevin Kern good? I am going on the 20th to see wicked. Thanks!

Aaron is returning on January 23rd. He's wonderful in a horribly underwritten role.
Kevin Kern is AWFUL, and should be avoided. His last day is the 18th (next Sunday) and then understudies are covering the first four shows of the week until Aaron goes back in.

Posted: 1/11/09 at 12:30amThank You! Thank god then, I know some people that liked Kevin and some that didn't so I didn't really know what to think. I saw pictures of him and he looks too old for the part. I hope this cast is good. I am kinda nervous about Nicole Parker but maybe she'll end up being good. :)

Posted: 1/11/09 at 12:38amThanks :) I think I will like her, there really isn't an Elphaba I don't like. I mean I was really hoping to see Marcie but It's nice to see brand new people in the role.

Posted: 1/11/09 at 12:56amCan we not judge her before she starts the role? Seriously, the only thing people could even judge on is rehearsal gossip and even then, she still has a whole four days before she even starts her FIRST performance.

Posted: 1/11/09 at 4:10amDo we really need to thank God for anything regarding Wicked?

Maybe it's changed to the 23rd since last weekend? Because he told someone at the Arena Stage stage door area last weekend "The 20th."
Sorry to throw more confusion, but that's what he said.

I want to know this, too. I would pay to see WICKED again if I had the opportunity to see Kyle Dean Massey play Fiyero.

Well, it was the 20th, then for awhile it was the 23rd, but now I notice the article has been updated again, and it's back to the 20th.
So, no understudies anymore.

My comment was about rehearsal gossip. I thought that was clear. I'm not judging her, and I'm willing to give her a chance. I'd love nothing more for her to be amazing. It's been awhile since the Broadway cast has had an incredible full-time Elphaba.

Posted: 1/11/09 at 12:31pmFor me, part of the Elphaba issue is that actresses are now being directed to be winy angry college students in the first act. Elphaba is far more interesting as an earthy, weird, awkward college student.

Posted: 1/11/09 at 8:52pmI think the leads are just being directed to be copy-cats, which makes sense. But then, none of the actors are wiling to take chances or make bold choices that differ them from the others, therefore the whole show just has a boring, "seen it" feel.
re: Aaron Tveit#17
Posted: 1/11/09 at 9:02pmI would agree with that to an extent, but there have been people they've brought in that have been bold with their choices, and have tried things differently. The current Glinda, Alli Mauzey is a great example of this. She's giving a very unique, original performance. Ditto for Julie Reiber, the current Elphaba standby, who is going on three nights this week, incidentally.
