and as a Pace theater major, I couldn't be more ecstatic.
Last night was one of the greatest nights in Pace University history. Dustin Hoffman broke the record for longest guest on 'Inside the Actor's Studio', breaking Streisand's 5-hour record and finishing a little after 5 hours. James Lipton made this incredible announement about his MFA program. And, while Pace celebrates it's 100th year, James Lipton celebrated his 200th episode.
It was an evening I'll cherish forever. And I sat front row. And I shook Dustin Hoffman's hand at the end of the night three times. This man is an idol and someone we should all cherish.
Thanks to James and the Actor's Studio for another incredible chance for students.

Hey, glad you had fun last night! I wish I could have gone, but I had a film class last night...Well, that and with midterm papers, etc I really wouldn't have had five hours to commit to the taping (well, it probably would have ended up being closer to six with the line up time, etc!). It figures after a slew of not-so-great guests (Martin Lawrence, Dave Chapelle, Tim Allen?!?!?) they have a jam-packed week of amazing actors (Robert Downey, Jr, Hoffman, and then Don Cheadle on Friday) smack in the middle of finals, right before spring break when every thing is going crazy before vacation. Ugh!
Anyway, congrats to Pace for bringing the MFA program in. Let's hope we don't screw it up.

"I have also met him in person, and I find him to be quite funny actually. Arrogant and often misinformed, but still funny."

Interesting new "opportunitas" for Pace.
I remember the "opportunitas" thing from my college search days.
Anyway, so does this mean the Actors Studio has cut all ties with the New School? Didn't the studio somehow change its affiliation a few years back?
That's great news for Pace. Maybe it'll rival Tisch's MFA Acting program someday. I hear SUNY Purchase is also working on a similar program.
