I’m not sure people are making a big deal out this as it should be. This is probably the most exciting news of the year. Even though it’s going to be through a play I’m just SOO excited to have his music back on broadway.
Wish he could’ve been making his broadway return with The Princess Bride, but this’ll do for now.

As glad as I am that he's getting work, and as much as I think his music will make a good contribution to the show - I don't expect this to be the grand Guettel return we've all been hoping for. In my experience, when known musical theatre composers write incidental music for projects like this, it doesn't tend to be all that recognizable as their work, and they don't pour their heart and soul into it like they would with their own musical.
