OMG! I love Adam's voice on the RENT soundtrack and i can't wait to see him in CABARET! i was hoping for Alan to come back, but I'm really excited now for Adam...YAY! i am a little surprised tho that they will bring in an new Emcee to close the show, i would have guessed someone would return to the role. Although, my guess is the show isn't actually closing Nov. 2nd! Anyway, SO EXCITED!

There was a RENT movie? When was it released? When was the soundtrack released? Who else from the original cast besides Adam was in it? Who directed it? How did I miss this?

Adam will do justice to the Emcee. I think he will be awesome! If I'm not mistaken, either Ricki Lake or Toni Collette will be the final Sally.

But...Adam's butt, I will so be there for that. And I guess also for his awesome voice ;c) They should record it and sale that musical on DVD. I was thrilled when Jekyll & Hyde came out and then David Hasselhoff started singing and I wasn't so thrilled anymore. He sounded like a frog. :c)

Toni Colette is a well known actress. She was in the hit film THE SIXTH SENSE. She starred in the Broadway WILD PARTY. She was nominated for a Tony for WILD PARTY. I think she has been nominated for an Oscar as well.

Christine, I am dissapointed you did not know that Toni Collette played Carlotta in the 6th national tour of POTO. When Jimmy Walker was the Phantom.

Seriously, she is a very talented and well known actress and I can't believe she has not done Sally yet.

I've read that Collette was Sam Mendes' first choice to replace Richardson but Equity turned her down.

Ricki Lake was almost signed last year, but they didn't at the last minute. The Toni Collette rumor was just started on ATC a week ago...maybe it is true that she was Mendes' first choice. I think she would be wonderful.

I also find it interesting that news items are not saying that Pascal is the final Emcee in Cabaret. They just say that the a closing date has been announced for 11/2. Gives me hope of at least a December extension. Really, what's the point of keeping the theatre all open for months if Assassins isn't even being planned till March.

I remember that Ricki Lake rumor a while back.
I have a theory that Cabaret will be open in December. I think setting a New Year's Eve closing date would be fine. Also, bring in Toni Collette. I'm sure she'd be a great Sally.
