Since I can't go, I have to do my part with some shameless shilling for my man. Go. To. This.
Edit 12/9 - still tickets.... GO!
Edit - 12/24 - last bump before I go away for the week. Go, enjoy Adam, and post about it so I can see when I get home!

I really, really like The Knitting Factory. It is quickly becoming one of my favorite venues, though I suppose that's because so many people I enjoy have been playing there.
Shameless bump... simply because I can.

Girlfriend, what's it like? I'm curious, it doesn't appear to be the usual broadway-folk-dabbling-in-solo-music type of thing.
I'm kind of curious, too. I mean, Joe's Pub seems to clearly be pretty theatre-oriented, but surfing around the website for The Knitting Factory gave me the idea that this is more like "the real deal."
ooh I want to go!!
Well, go!
I'm so shameless...
F*ck. WHY CAN'T I GO?!?!?!
*cries*
AWW there there Emcee, I'm sure someone will record it or tape it!
I know. I'm sure I'll get pictures and stuff. I'm just whining. I miss him!
I want to go, but my parents refuse to get me tickets to another Adam concert! And they won't let me go if I get my own ticket! Grrr!
At least you weren't remotely contemplating trying to fly home early from the South Eastern portion of the country.
*hangs head*
Alright, enough sobbing, more shilling.
GO SEE ADAM, people!

Well, it's not, really.
The only other Broadway related person I've ever seen perform there is Joshua Kobak (of Rent) and his band Swim, whom I'm a HUGE fan of. And he, and Adam too really, are more Broadway actors who are also musicians, more than theater people dabbling in solo-music.
But yeah, the place has a few different rooms. The room that Adam is playing in is basically just an open floor and bar, so it's going to be a standing thing. The sound is pretty awesome (I thought so, but usually, when Joshua actually says the sound is good, the sound is good) and it's a nice, sort of intimate setup.
They also have a tap bar downstairs for more acoustic acts, which I have also been to recently. It's about the same size, but not meant for bands.
I just like the place. It has a good feel to it, and a bar just for sitting in, in case you want to chat after and the music is still going. I think there may be one other performance space in there, but I've only been to those two.
Didn't Anthony Rapp perform there once?..

Thanks, Girlfriend. What kind of crowd is it?
Now, why can't I make it to New York, damn ??? Adam on the 29th AND Matt on the Kitchen Sink at the 19th ? emcee you have to go to one of these for me, please !!! Why did I choose September to come to town ? Couldn't I wait till now ?
Take care
I have a final exam the day following the Kitchen Sink, so I can't go to that, and I have to go visit family out-of-state after Christmas. That's why I can't see my Adam.
*fumes*

I wanted to go soo bad, but I'm going on a tour with my friends and we're going to a play that night, and my mom said she won't go with me so I was like Okay I'll go alone and she's like NO YOU CAN'T GO ALONE! grrrrrrr....
Bump again.... because there are still tickets.
Not only does Adam have an opening act, but I just found out that one of the guys in that band was formerly the drummer for Adam's old band, Mute.
Get tickets!!
And let me live vicariously... please. *pouts*
Nine days til his return to the NYC stage... and not a moment too soon, if I may say so.
I think the 'boob lady' should officially hand over her job to you, Emcee. You are the Marketing Director of Adam Pascal Enterprise!

And I'm a hell of a lot nicer.

And you are always appropriately dressed
I'm sure we'll be able to 'capture' a moment or two for you on 29th.
