The talk in Anthony's topic kinda got turned to his brother's books and plays so I thought I'd start a seperate topic
edit: no one wants to talk about them? I have all eight of them if anyone wants to chat :)
I'd be interested in a list of them - I know several have been mentioned at various times, but it's hard to find them now.
missing the piano
the copper elephant
the buffalo tree
nocturne
little chicago
33 snowfish
under the wolf under the dog
stone cold dead serious and other plays
I absolutely loved Nocturne. I thought it was so beautifully written. I also have a couple other plays by him (unfortunately haven't gotten to read them all - I have way too many plays that I WANT to read). His style is very interesting and modern, though I wish I could have SEEN one of his plays. I feel it would be a lot more effective heard than read.
Nocturne and Stone Cold Dead Serious are my two favorites. :)
I wasn't able to put either of them down while i was reading them.
Did you read any of his novels?

I haven't read any of his plays, but have seen a few.
"Nocturne" was wonderful at New York Theatre Workshop a few seasons ago. Dallas Roberts gave a remarkable performance as the narrator.
The Edge Theatre's production of "Blackird" was also outstanding last year -- real, raw and gripping.
I also enjoyed "Stone Cold Dead Serious." He's a major young talent.
yay! another fan! :)
I loved reading Stone Cold Dead Serious... I hope to see it soon. :)
I've read a few, and I saw 'Nocturne' when it was produced by the A.R.T in Cambridge with Dallas Roberts. Anthony has said that the production he did of it was much simpler (only him onstage), and much more the way Adam Rapp intended it to be when he wrote it. It would have been wonderful to have been able to see that.

I saw Nocturne at NYTW as well. I agree with MargoChanning that Dallas Roberts was amazing. I am not familiar with his other works.

yay... adam-ness :)
I've only read Nocturne and Stone Cold Dead Serious and other plays. I enjoy both books very much, but I think Nocturne was my favorite of all those plays. The writing is so wonderful and believable.
So far I've only read Stone Cold, Dead Serious and other plays but I just recieved Nocturne and The Copper Elaphant in the mail so I'm going to start on those as soon as I finish the Hot Zone. (scary scary book but so good.) Anyways, I absolutely loved SCDS. Overall, just really well written and a good piece of work. I'm going to ask my acting teacher if we can do some of the scenes from that book this session. Although as others have said, I really wish I could have seen these shows live. If I liked them this much by reading it, I can't imagine how good they must be live and in perfromance.
I really want to read his work..They all seem so interesting!
they are :) I've loved every book he's written so far.
Yes his work is very interesting to read and its just so well written in general. There's a very unique quality to it and it all flows toegether so seamlessly. Honestly some of the best work I've read in a long long time. This guy's really something special.
::bump:: :)
