He was great! Make sure you don't miss him.....and Susan Egan...what a freaking voice!!!!
I first saw Raul in CABARET and I absolutely loved him...I didn't think I could love Adam as much but I do.

I posted this in another thread, but here ya go...
Just a few general thoughts on Cabaret 10/17...
For his first, Adam did a VERY commendable job. No real complaints here...I wouldn't rank him among the likes of Alan Cumming or Raul Esparza, but I was impressed nonetheless. He was a very slinky Emcee (he's also lost weight and toned up a bit I'd say), well-sung, and very comfortable on stage. As his time progresses in the show, I'm sure his comedic bits will get better as well. Overall, an incredibly enjoyable performance and I'm sure fans will no doubt be impressed.
On a sidenote, Susan Egan remains stellar (sooo much better than a weak Heather Laws who I saw last time), Tony Roberts and Blair Brown were fine (though I could not get Carole S's fierce performance out of my mind), and Rick Holmes is a solid Cliff.

He's good. Saw him yesterday matinee. Needs to work with a dialect coach a little bit, but other than that he's "perfectly marvelous".

Posted: 10/19/03 at 10:50amI so much want to see Cabaret with Adam Pascal. I saw it with John Stamos and Molly Ringwald. I thought Stamos did a good job but Molly was totally a yawn. I was kind of turned off by having to spend a fortune on a drink at the Cabaret. I'd pass on ordering if I ever get to see Adam.

I ended up, quite unexpectedly, seeing Cabaret this afternoon...from stage-side seats, no less. (Let's hear it for a last minute ticket purchase at the box office WITH a discount code!) The house seemed to be full, so I guess I just got lucky.
At any rate, I was quite impressed with the entire cast. I've never been that crazy about the Frau Schneider and Herr Schultz characters or their songs, but Blair Brown and Tony Roberts won me over. And I'd been skeptical about Adam Pascal as the Emcee, but not any more. I thought he nailed it. And to tell you the truth, if I'd not been aware that he was playing the role going in, it would have taken me a few minutes to recognize him. This make-up makes his features look more sculpted than I recall from Aida or Rent. Ah, but the voice remains the same.

I can't imagine Secada, Stamos, or even Harris pulling off what Pascal did. And I saw only his second performance.
PASCAL & ESPARZA: The ultimate Emcees.

Posted: 10/20/03 at 3:41pmActually.. I saw Stamos and Pascal and would say that I think I connected more with Stamos. Pascal didn't do a bad job at all.. (I mean AT ALL)

Posted: 10/22/03 at 11:19amI love Pascal but is his gravelly voice suited to a more classic musical like Cabaret? Can anyone comment on this? How does he sound?

Surprisingly, he's not very gravely. I was worried about that myself, but I was completely surprised. Bowled over. Hyperventilating with joy. And now in love
Or at least infatuation with his performance, hee.

Posted: 10/22/03 at 8:35pmI saw it on monday and WOW!!!!!!!!!! I was absolutely blown away. This is, without question, his best performance yet. He absolutely nailed the part. He didnt use that much gravel in his voice except for a few points and when he did, it worked perfectly. AMAZING!!!!!!!!
