Saw "Adding Machine" tonight, and, even with all the hype, I was pretty much blown away. I had heard 'amelodic' over and over again, so I truly wasn't prepared for how haunting and outright beautiful the music was. Phenomenal performances, superb production design, and while I wouldn't use the word 'nervous,' I was ill-at-ease throughtout the whole show and could never quite get comfortable (I'm fairly certain that was the intention).
I'd have a tough time 'selling' the show to someone, but I found it remarkably compelling, unsettling and innovative (if only on a staging level). I adore "Passing Strange," but I think this may be my favorite new musical of this past season. It's a shame most theatre this creative and transgressive is destined to be limited to a small audience.

I loved this show.
It's bizzare. It often works against itself.
It is a much better show than "In the Heights."
I'm just saying.
