Hey everybody.

I thought that I would try to get some thoughts on a performance I am considering producing at a small 99 seat house in the city.

I would like to do a concert type performance of music by either an individual or a team that have done a number of shows together.

Some initial thoughts were Jason Robert Brown, Bill Finn, Jeanine Tesori, Ahrens and Flaherty, or other more modern composer/lyricists. I don't think that Rodgers and Hammerstein would really be a big draw, but I could be wrong.

I would also like to keep it small with just a piano, and maybe 4 cast members.

Long term, if there seems to be interest, would be to make it a regular series at a small venue.

Just wanted to get your opinions of some favorite composers that you would enjoy sitting and listening to their music for 90 minutes.

Thanks in advance!

EDITED: To provide some more information in the post, and also to change the title to something that makes more sense :)

Well, I'd like to throw out there that Jeanine Tesori's music is amazing, and I would pay a lot to see Sutton Foster esp do a concert of just her songs! re: Advice needed for a NYC concert... If you wanted a group of performers, you could get other performers who have done her musicals. I know Gavin Creel also will have a big draw.

That's my thoughts. Good luck on trying to get this started.

I think Ahrens and Flaherty would be nice. There have been some recent Bill Finn revues.
