Posted: 4/24/14 at 9:50amI do hope they are planning to release a whole album (even if it is "live" or not). I can see them doing something during Fantasia's return. Interesting that there still is no official word on who the "special guest" will be after June 8. Surely, they won't be without one the week after the Tony's (which is when I'll be in New York)

Uhhh... someone needs to wake Bryan up from his nap. BRYAN! BRYAN BRYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAN! Your wish came (kinda) true!
It's a treat to hear this magnificent orchestra and the wickedly talented Adriane Lenox and Fantasia again. I'm a TEENY bit disappointing in these sound cloud clips, though. There's wonderful clarity throughout, but for lack of a better description, to my ears it sounds as though the treble is turned way up. As though the "bottom" has fallen out. For those who haven't been yet, this recording (while very good) doesn't quite convey the full musical experience in the theatre. The sound mixing in the theatre is brilliantly executed. I recall sitting in the orchestra and literally feeling the thump of the band when they played in unison -- a visceral thrill. I'm also kinda surprised that they haven't released a music video with Fantasia. The b-roll from the commercials and the prior video excerpts they posted were beautifully shot. A music vid of Fantasia's "Stormy Weather" or "Sunny Side of the Street" could quickly garner tens of thousands of views on YouTube. It just seems like a natural idea. Ah, well.
