Ain't It Funny?

Ain't it funny that so many of us are hardcore Broadway fans, yet it seems like EVERY post I read is bashing a show? It seems like no show can do any right. What happened to the enjoyment of a night out to the theatre? If everytime you went to a show, it changed your life, then "that certain show" wouldn't be special. Why can't we all just appreciate a show, even if it has something we may not love?
Come on everyone, do you realize the power we hold by our word of mouth? Can't we just be a little less harsh?

Amen :)
Sometimes I laugh out loud at these boards.
They are VICIOUS!

Finally! Someone sees what I do!!
On this board sometimes it sounds like going to the theatre is their job. Come on people. It's for sheer entertainment. Enjoy it :)

Okay, I think 99% of my posts are of a positive manner. But I don't agree with this at all: "On this board sometimes it sounds like going to the theatre is their job. Come on people. It's for sheer entertainment. Enjoy it"
A lot of the posters on this board have critical, (and yes, sometimes negative), opinions about certain shows, performers, trends, etc... The reason I like BWW is the give and take of opinions, which can often be enlightening. Instead of being able to talk to your one friend who you saw a play with, you can talk with hundreds of people completely different from yourself who also saw the play.
If BWW was all fans seeking theatre for "sheer enjoyment", I wouldn't be interested at all.

I never understood that myself. I think there may be a lot of frustrated writers and directors out there . . . er, here.
You can't psiotive about everything all the time, but it is odd when people are always negative.
