SPOILER ALERT

SPOILER ALERT
(Best if experienced in context with the full show)
A spoiler of sorts because I think this is one of the most electrifying moments I've experienced in the theatre. The cast singing "Black and Blue" while sitting motionless. I guess it had so much impact because the show was so joyous up to this point and then this incredibly stunning and moving moment.

I saw an interview with her a few years after "Ain't Misbehavin'" and she said it was hard for her to do the show because she was playing the airheaded goofy girl and thought it was a stereotype she wanted to shed. I bet she was happy to perform in the Black & Blue number so she could demonstrate her more serious acting skills.

Charlayne Woodard throws some hilarious attitude in "How You Baby?". The dance break is especially funny.
Choreographed by Arthur Faria. He was nominated for a Tony for this, but lost to... Bob Fosse.
