Al Hirschfeld - Stage Height

Posted: 4/26/07 at 10:38pmI'm attempting to purchase tickets to see Curtains soon and have a choice between Row S and Row A (center). I like being close to the stage (actors facial expressions et)...but I want to be sure the stage isn't too incredibly high to enjoy the show. Hairspray from the front row was not fun. Any insight? Thanks in advance.

Posted: 4/26/07 at 10:41pmThe stage there isn't too high. I've sat in the front row there 3 times (2 times on left extreme, right center, once). Great view.

Posted: 4/27/07 at 1:27amI'd go with the front row over Row S; however, when I saw Wedding Singer from the front row, I remember the stage being a bit too high. You miss their feet (as you do with a lot of shows if you view them from the front row), and, depending on the show, you might miss a thing or two further towards the back of the stage. This might not be the case for this show...in Wedding Singer it was. There was a scene that featured Steven Lynch on a bed laying down and it was further towards the back of the stage. I don't believe there are any props in the show you will miss.

Posted: 4/27/07 at 7:41pmI sat front dead center for Curtains during previews and the view was fine. Altough I was slightly startled at the beginning of Act 2.
