Alexander’s performance is part of our celebrated Voices from the Great White Way Series. There is a $25 cover, as well as a $15 food or beverage minimum (a full bar and dinner menu is available). ALEXANDER GEMIGNANI made his Broadway debut in Roundabout Theatre’s 2004 Broadway mounting of Assassins. Gemignani returned to Broadway in late 2005 as the Beadle in the revival of Sweeney Todd (he later played the title role in the national tour, opposite Judy Kaye). He has appeared in concert versions of both South Pacific (with Reba McEntire and Brian Stokes Mitchell at Carnegie Hall) and Passion (with Patti LuPone, Michael Cerveris and Audra McDonald). In addition, Gemignani participated in a memorable performance of Opening Doors from Sondheim’s Merrily We Roll Along at Symphony Space as part of Wall to Wall Sondheim, celebrating Sondheim’s 75th birthday. Recently, he starred as Jean Valjean in the Broadway revival of Les Miserables, and as the Boatman/Dennis in Sunday in the Park with George. Currently, he is in rehearsals for Sondheim’s newest musical, Road Show, soon to open at The Public Theatre,

Oh, wow, good for him! For a guy who's done so much, I feel like he doesn't get enough recognition sometimes. He's probably my favourite Jean Valjean, tied with Hugh Panaro. (Colm Wilkinson doesn't count because you really... can't compare him with anyone. He doesn't have a human voice.)

yeah, he was my favorite Jean Valjean...sadly i didnt get to see Panaro...and (yell at me all you like ) i have never really cared for Colm's voice
Alex is such a talent.. Nice guy, too. I hope this goes well for him.
He was certainly an amazing Valjean, but Colm owns the role and always will.
Schmerg_The_Impaler, you are QUITE a welcome addition to the board *lol*
Well... To me, anyway
I sure enjoy your posts.
Why, thank you! That means a lot to me, seeing as I felt terrible after I offended you with that stupid Sarah Brightman thread I created.
So... has anyone here seen Alex Gemignani as the Beadle in Sweeney Todd? I've heard him on the cast recording, but I never saw him play the role live. What was he like?

Oh, man! I am FLAT BROKE right now but I would consider selling a pair of my beloved shoes on ebay to go to this. Alex Gemignani is just SO amazing. *sighs*
