This week, DECADES aired a 1972 Dick Cavett Show with Alexis Smith as a guest, shortly after she had won the Tony. Cavett lamented that FOLLIES would be closing on July 1st and Alexis discussed the upcoming tour. Interesting that Alexis left the Cavett show early, explaining that she was off to rehearse a restaging of the Lucy and Jessie musical number with Michael Bennett, who she said was never pleased with the number.
