Alice In Wonderland...the OPERA??? really???

Ok I know it has been mentioned that there will be an Opera of Alice In Wonderland and I know that Kristin Chenoweth will be starring in it...and that will be absolutely adorable (sorry my Wicked fan inside got out)...but anyway...has anyone here ever SEEN or BEEN IN the show Alice In Wonderland??? Because I have been in that show, and it is soooo mother f*ing trippy...obviously since the guy was on drugs..But it's very hard to understand...and now as an opera...will anyone even be able to comprehend if they hadn't seen the show or movie?

The idea of Alice In Wonderland as a musical sounds like fun but I don't think I would like it as opera. I'm sure it would be impossible to follow.
