Tomorrow night at 7 I am seeing Alice Ripley at 54 Below, not only is she my absolute favorite theatre artist, but add to that, she's singing All Sondheim. I think this is gonna be something special. This will also be my first time ever at 54 Below, so if anyone has any tips or suggestions as far as what time to arrive (doors open at 5:30, show at 7), seating (I believe it's at the discretion of the host), and food options, it'd be greatly appreciated. If you're going too, let me know! I'd love to meet more of her fans like myself.

Have fun! And report back!
Arrive early enough to have your meal if you don't plan to drink your minimum. Otherwise it'll just be too awkward trying to sneak quick bites during the performance. The salads are pretty substantial so as long as you don't need to have a hot meal, I like the idea of a salad and dessert vs. an entree.
Shi****o peppers! Always.
I saw Alice's first 54 Below act "Ripley Reflects", back in September 2013, and she absolutely does not disappoint. I so wish I could see this new concert! I think you are safe if you arrive between 5:45 and 6:00. As for food options, my first trip in 2013 I got dinner at a diner before hand, and preshow just had a desert, and some soda. This past time when I saw "54 Below Sings Elaine Stritch" in September 2014, I got this really good bacon macaroni thing (I wish I could remember the name). On the whole, all the food is wonderful, so it just a matter of budget, and what's on the menu for that given day. I hope you enjoy the show! Please report back!!

For those of you interested in her set, it's as follows:
Broadway Baby, Anyone Can Whistle, Losing My Mind, Ladies Who Lunch, No Place Like London/Barber and his Wife/Not While I'm Around, I Remember, Send in the Clowns, Miller's Son, Rose's Turn Encores: Maybe (next to normal) duet with pianist, I Miss the Mountains
this was the first time she ever performed Rose's Turn for an audience. She also sang a bit of Not Getting Married Today when recalling her first time meeting Sondheim.
the food was mediocre in my opinion and so overpriced, but it was all worth it to see her so intimately. I had a great seat too, right against the front of the stage.

thoughts?
I loved it :)
I thought it was All Sondheim? Sondheim didn't write Next to Normal...
Oh! I must have missed that. I guess it's okay she sang those songs then.
